Gospel concert to benefit shoe program for Madera students

A contemporary gospel singer will perform a concert sponsored by the Madera Leo Club and Bridge Store on Saturday at Nishimoto Elementary School.

Avery Stafford, a 1983 graduate of Madera High School, will perform at 6 p.m. at the school, 26460 Martin St.

All proceeds from the concert will benefit Shoes that Fit, which provides shoes to needy elementary students in Madera Unified School District.

The Madera Leo Club, a junior club of the Madera Evening Lions, has provided new shoes, backpacks and coats to more than 4,000 Madera students over the last five years...
