Arguably one of the most difficult issues for school districts to tackle is the use of cellphones and other wireless devices on school grounds.
While the devices can be used for family emergencies or to look up information on important subjects, oftentimes they provide an avenue for in-class disruptions or, in the words of one Golden Valley Unified School District board member, “to send indecent pictures of themselves to each other.”
The issue was at times hotly contested at Golden Valley’s Tuesday board meeting.
