Girl Scouts plant flowers at Cedar Creek

Four Girl Scout troops from Madera and Chowchilla planted hundreds of flowers at Cedar Creek Senior Living as part of a community project with Service Unit 32, which includes all Madera County troops, on Memorial Day.

Thirty girls ages 6 to 12 planted donated petunias, marigolds, geraniums and daisies Monday morning. About 20 parents showed up to help the girls.

“It was a great turnout. We had a lot of girls there and a lot of parent participation,” said Toni Jordan, the Troop 2048 leader.

“Many residents were appreciative of the girls being there to plant flowers for them on Memorial Day and sharing time with others in the community,” she said...
