Friant Dam operations to be transferred to Fresno agency

FRESNO — The Bureau of Reclamation has scheduled a negotiation session with Fresno County Waterworks No. 18 — which services nearly 140 residential, commercial and industrial customers in the rural community of Friant — for the long-term transfer of the operation and maintenance of Reclamation-owned facilities at Friant Dam.

The negotiation session will be held Monday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the local Bureau of Reclamation office at 1243 N St. in Fresno. The public is encouraged to attend and comment.

During the session, Reclamation officials will discuss the transfer of operations and maintenance to the Friant waterworks district, plus the proposed modification of Reclamation-owned pipelines and other infrastructure near Friant Dam.
