Businesses and a nonprofit are inviting Madera residents to shred sensitive documents at their event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. The free shedding service will be provided by Shred-It, Clearpoint Credit Counseling Solutions and the Better Business Bureau.
Resources and counseling to prevent identity theft will also be given at the event, set to take place at Cedar Creek Senior Living, 500 N. Westberry Blvd.
Free safe destruction of up to two boxes of documents will be provided for each person, but a donation of $3 will be expected for each additional box. Proceeds raised from additional shredding are set to benefit Madera South High School’s Link Crew. Humid materials are not allowed.
