The Dinkey Collaborative has scheduled an open house from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 19, at the Central Sierra Historical Society and Museum, 42642 Tollhouse Road, Shaver Lake.

The event is designed to showcase how community members and U.S. Forest Service employees are working together to restore and maintain the health of public lands and ecosystems within the Dinkey Creek area, part of which is in eastern Madera County.

“Learn how you can be a part of this exciting opportunity to impact forest health, promote clean water and air and prevent uncharacteristic wildfire in the Sierra National Forest and neighboring communities,” advises a news release from the Forest Service.

Those planning to attend should email Veronica Garcia at vgarcia02 at fs.fed.us by Sept. 12.
