The Madera County Food Bank is helping the Madera County Library feed readers, with knowledge that is. The food bank re-gifted a 500-book donation it received from the nonprofit organization Feed The Children to the local library.

Feed The Children is an international Christian charity based in the U.S., which usually sends gifts of food or drink to the local food bank.

“Sometimes they have donations that normally we wouldn’t take, but we do take so that we can donate to other organizations that I know would need it in the community,” said Ryan McWherter, the food bank’s executive director.

On Monday, Mc-Wherter met with Madera County librarian Ellen Mester in the library headquarters, where he presented stacks of books, which filled several carts.
