The Madera County Food Bank will begin accepting applications and distributing food in a program to help senior citizens on Thursday.
The Senior Nutrition and Produce Program is an annual seasonal partnership between the Madera County Food Bank and the City of Madera Parks and Recreation Department in which older residents receive fresh fruits and vegetables for a shared maintenance fee of $2 weekly.
On Thursday, SNAPP applications will be distributed from 7 to 9 a.m. in the Lions Town and Country Park parking lot on Howard Road.
Food distribution will continue in the same place and time until mid-October.
Those 55 years or older may apply. A valid identification is required. For more information call the food bank, 674-1482.
