Madera police are on the hunt for suspects in the city’s first homicide of 2014.

Jesus Gutierrez, 23, was found dead outside an apartment complex on the 300 block of Knox Avenue around 11 p.m. Saturday, Det. Josh Chavez said.

Chavez said when officers responded to a call of shots fired at the complex, they found the non-responsive Gutierrez in a nearby grassy corridor with two gunshot wounds, at least one to his torso.
