Gustavo Gutierrez, Jr. weighed 5 lbs., 15 ounces
More than two weeks ahead of schedule, newborn Gustavo Gutierrez, Jr. was the first baby born in Madera in 2012. The son of Maria and Gustavo Gutierrez had a Jan. 19 due date, according to his mother’s obstetrician, Dr. Peter Nassar.
Gustavo, Jr. not only arrived 18 days early, but he didn’t waste much time in the birthing process.
“My water broke at 6:49 a.m. and he was born at 9:53,” said Maria.
Dr. Oscar Young, the on-call physician at Madera Community Hospital, delivered the baby and Dr. Shoheen Khan was the attending pediatrician. Gustavo weighed in at just 5 pounds and 15 ounces and is 18.5 inches long...
