Fernandez, Payne wed in Hawaiian-themed ceremony

Melissa Ann Fernandez of Madera married Robert Scott Payne, also of Madera, on Dec. 31, 2012. The Rev. Avery Stafford performed the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Rosie Fernandez and the late Manuel Fernandez Jr., both of Madera. She is a 1984 graduate of Madera High School and works as a lead generator at The Home Depot.

The groom is the son of Philip and Caroline Mayer of Madera and a 1984 graduate of Madera High School. He is the owner of Toys from the Attic and Outdoor Custom Creations.

The bride carried orchids with tea leaves from Hawaii. Her maid of honor was her daughter, Krizti Clark of Fresno. Her flower girls were her daughter Laveda Chan of Madera and granddaughter Claira Clark-Hicks of Fresno. Other bridesmaids were her sister Myra Medina of Madera and friends Spring Madril of Madera, Annelle Fijuiko of Fresno, Sara Dilbeck of Madera and Amy Bacon of Chowchilla...
