The Madera County Farm Bureau, the Merced County Farm Bureau, the County of Madera and other co-petitioners have filed a motion with the Sacramento County Superior Court for a preliminary injunction, that if granted would stop construction on the first section of the California High-Speed Rail.
The project is scheduled to start in Madera County near the junction of Avenue 17 and the Burlington Northern Santa Fe tracks.
Eventually the tracks would be laid between Merced and Fresno, and later to Bakersfield.
If granted by the court, the preliminary injunction would stop construction while the lawsuit is pending...
