It's a farmer's life for Davis twins, Marin and Schafer

There may not be a certain secret to success on how to be an effective farmer, but chances are considerably higher if you move through the family chain.

“You have to be a descendent of a farming family,” said Brian Davis, who with his twin brother Nick helps farm 1,700 acres of pomegranates, almonds and wine grapes. “You can make a lot of mistakes that take money.”

Brian and Nick Davis, 29, have had success not only because they bought into the farmer’s lifestyle, but because they have the backing of their family. On top of farming, the two own Twin Pomegranates Wine and are the first pomegranate winemakers in the Central Valley.
