Project will provide more space for GM products

A local auto retailer plans to expand its Chrysler and General Motors dealerships to become a “one-stop shop” for new and used cars in Madera.

Jay Gill, president and CEO of Gill Auto Group, said a new facility will be built next to the existing complex on Madera Avenue within the next two years.

Gill Auto Group opened its Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram dealership in 2010, when it bought the venerable business from the Pistoresi family, then bought out Vintage Buick, GMC, and Cadillac three months ago, Gill said. The Vintage Motors building at 6th and E streets was closed Aug. 15.

Since then both dealerships have been operated from the Chrysler store, but the new building will better accommodate the Buick, GMC, and Cadillac vehicles...
