A triathlon where 980 Madera County students competed in four categories drew hundreds of people to Lions Town and Country Park.

Students who participated in the second annual Fit for Life Triathlon on Saturday are enrolled in the 28 sites where Madera County Office of Education operates its Club Yes after-school program.

Fit for Life triathlon aimed to promote healthy eating and living through running, jogging, bicycling and dancing events. Students also created banners and posters to promote the event and highlight their school sites. Several agencies participated in the event by providing information.
