Madera Tribune reporter Elsa Mejía will participate in her first 5K run on Saturday — and is inviting readers to join her. Three free entries to the “world’s most colorful 5K,” Run or Dye in Fresno, are up for grabs.
Any interested reader can email his or her name and phone number to farin at maderatribune.net today. At 3 p.m., two winners will be chosen at random from all entries received. The winners will be announced in Thursday’s Mind Over Miles column.
The two readers and two reporters will form a team and run/walk the 3.1-mile course through Woodward Park beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday.
Run or Dye is not a typical 5K. It’s not a timed race, but rather a fun run in which the goal is to become as colorful as possible. Participants will run through four dye stations, where volunteers will toss pink, orange, green and blue colored cornstarch in hopes of covering the runners from head to toe.
