Elks’ bingo for charities celebrates 1-year

Participants and bingo committee members celebrated the first anniversary of the Bingo Night for Charities at the Madera Elks Lodge.

For Tuesday’s celebration, special monetary prizes of $100 or more were awarded to winners. This will continue at the next bingo night.

The lodge hosts bingo, which was initiated by several Elks, every first and third Tuesday of the month beginning promptly at 6:30 p.m.

Over the past year the Elks and the bingo committee have given $1,500 each quarter to charities including the Wounded Warrior Project, the Boys and Girls Club, the battered women’s shelter, the Madera Robotics Team, the Elks’ third grade dictionary program, the Coats for Kids program and Relay for Life...
