Drug force raids meth house, nabs suspect

A Mexican illegal immigrant is under arrest, facing felony drug charges after agents with the Madera County Narcotic Enforcement Team (MADNET) discovered he was using his rental home in Madera as a stash house for methamphetamine trafficking.

Juan Mendez, 31, was taken into custody late Friday night.

Inside his house, agents discovered nearly two pounds of methamphetamine with a street value of at least $11,000, a rifle, and thousands of dollars in U.S. currency — much of which was found hidden in canisters, said Erica Stuart Madera County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman.
