A two-strike felon has been convicted of a third-strike charge in Madera County Superior Court.

Gary Del Granado, 40, was found guilty Thursday of methamphetamine possession, said Madera County District Attorney Michael R. Keitz.

“The jury convicted Del Granado following a trial in which Deputy District Attorney Matthew Pfeffer prosecuted the case for the people,” Keitz said in a news release.

“Del Granado was previously convicted in 1993 of three separate felony counts of rape for which he served three years in state prison,” Keitz said. “Following his release from prison, he was again convicted in 1998, in the Madera County Superior Court, on a felony charge of assault with intent to commit rape. He was sentenced to nine years in state prison for that conviction.” ...
