Driver sustains moderate injuries in crash

NORTH FORK — Distracted driving was determined to be the cause of a single vehicle rollover crash on Road 200, just west of Wyle Ranch Road that injured the driver, according to the Oakhurst office of The California Highway Patrol.

CHP Sgt. Ed Green said the crash happened Saturday night about 6:20 p.m, and the driver sustained lacerations and other moderate injuries. The 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse rolled and flipped several times before coming to a stop upside down.

The driver, 27-year-old Paul Penerian, of Madera Ranchos, was driving east on Road 200, Green said.

“According to witnesses, he entered the curve at a high rate of speed, and ran off the road, colliding with sign and two metal posts. He told officers he was eating a burrito at the time of the rollover,” Green said...
