Domestic abuser sentenced to 14 years

A Hanford man convicted of felony battery against his Madera girlfriend, said to be half his size, was sentenced to a lengthy prison term earlier this week and barring parole won’t be free for more than 10 years.

Alfredo Morales, 32, was sentenced to 14 years in jail Tuesday for his actions in November of 2012 which left a woman covered in bruises, bite marks, and burns.

On that day, Madera deputy sheriffs responded to an emergency call from a neighbor when a woman was heard screaming inside a house near State Route 41 on the south side of the county.
