Dirt bikes suspected in rollover

MADERA RANCHOS — A 20-year-old Madera man was driving on Avenue 13, near Road 36 when he lost control of his Mitsubishi Gallant SUV, went off the road and flipped and rolled the vehicle.

The man was shaken but uninjured. The driver said he had to take evasive action Saturday about 9 p.m., to avoid a motorcycle and two dirt bikes that had approached him at high speed and were driving near the center line of the roadway.

According to the driver, the three motorcyclists then briefly returned to the scene of the crash, gawked, threatened and taunted him for almost hitting them, and then fled.

The SUV landed upright on its wheels, after flipping front to back, totaling the vehicle...
