The Lumbertown exhibit on the Madera District Fairgrounds will be filled with music, memories and more Friday night for the Boots and Bangles steak dinner and dance organized by the Madera District Fair Heritage Foundation.
“People are dressing western themed... with a little touch of bling for the girls,” said foundation president Patty Manfredi. “We’ll be having a sexy boots contest for the women wearing cowboy boots, and we’re going to have a strut your buckle for the men wearing cowboy belt buckles.”
An ongoing stream of historic black and white photographs will reveal images of past local parades, fairs, community members and landmarks, such as Sugar Pine Lumber. There will also be silent and live auctions.
About 300 are expected to dine and dance to the music of the Yard Dogs in support of the fairgrounds and Madera history, Manfredi said. The evening, which will be from 6 to about 10:30 p.m., will be used to help finish work on the Lumbertown exhibit...
