Neal endorses Linn for DA

The tight race for the District 1 seat on the Madera County Board of Supervisors will be decided with a run-off in the November general election between Mona Diaz and Brett Frazier, according to Rebecca Martinez, county clerk-recorder and registrar of voters.

The official summary of the June 3 primary election shows Diaz with 950 votes (24.4 percent) and Frazier with 853 votes (21.9 percent). Running a close third was Gary Johns with 843 votes (21.7 percent).

Initial results before Tuesday’s updated count had Johns ahead by only five votes. In an online statement, Frazier thanked his supporters and expressed excitement at the upcoming campaign.

“There is no greater example of how knocking on a door, making a phone call or simply casting a ballot can help make the difference,” Frazier said. “I am so proud of this team effort and excited to continue our hard work.” ...
