Diaz and Murphy to wed

Sami Diaz and Jordan Murphy, both born and reared in Madera, have announced their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Samuel and Dora Diaz. The groom-to-be is the son of Anthony and Jerrianne Murphy. Murphy is a 2005 graduate of Madera High School and a 2011 graduate of University of La Verne. Diaz is a 2007 graduate of Madera High School.

Diaz works as a client records technician at Central Valley Regional Center. She is also the head varsity dance coach at Madera High School and a choreographer for the Pac Dance Studio. Murphy is the head athletic trainer and the assistant junior varsity coach at Madera South High School.

The pair met through mutual friends at a gathering, became a couple on April 5, 2010, got engaged on March 23, 2012 and are set to wed on May 31 at Wolf Lakes Park in Sanger.
