Deputies find cache of stolen items at a motel

A report of a squabble between a man and a woman sent deputies to a motel south of Madera where they found a large inventory of what they believe to be stolen property stored in the room.

In late August, 40-year-old Michael Cole Kitley of Clovis and 25-year-old Danielle Robin Blevins of Fresno rented the room at the Casa Grande Motel located on Golden State Boulevard.

The couple reportedly fought. She checked out, and he took off, a deputy was told.

Upon checking their room, a motel employee discovered what appeared to be evidence of identity theft … piles of checkbooks, debit and credit cards, Social Security cards, and driver’s licenses scattered throughout the room. Deputies also found a cache of stolen merchandise...
