Deputies ‘sweep’ mountains, arrest 6

Law enforcement officers swept through eastern Madera County this week and arrested six men wanted on various criminal counts including probation violation and resisting arrest.

Dubbed “Operation Mountain Sweep,” a team comprised of sheriff’s deputies, state parole agents, and officers from the Madera County Probation Department moved through several foothill communities to make the six arrests.

The arrested men and their charges are: Matthew Williamson, 47, felony vandalism, trespassing, resisting arrest; Nolan Cordero, 36, probation violation; David Newberry, 32, grand theft, probation violation; Erick Radman, 32, probation violation; Sean McMahon, 26, probation violation and Nathaniel Follette, 29, for parole violation.

Sheriff spokeswoman Erica Stuart said Follette’s arrest was a highlight of the routine operation — usually carried out once a month — as he was one of Valley Crime Stopper’s most-wanted criminals...
