When Madera Ranchos native Jodi Holeman heard she was winning a Dean’s Graduate Medal from California State University, Fresno, she at first thought it was a mistake.
“I was shocked that the department had nominated me in the first place,” she said. “As a master’s student you get to know a lot of the other students in the program and they’re all exceptional students. I didn’t know I was worthy of such an award.”
Holeman, 31, completed her master’s degree in biology with a 3.93 GPA and earned the Dean’s Graduate Medal from the College of Science and Mathematics this month.
