Credit card skimmers hit 22-Mile House

For the second time in four months, the Madera County Sheriff’s Office has received an influx of calls from credit card skimming victims who discovered unauthorized charges on their credit cards.

At least 15 cardholders report their cards were compromised after pumping gas at the 22-Mile House on State Route 41 in Madera County.

Sheriff John Anderson says based on information gathered by detectives, the skimming operation likely occurred in late November or early December. Detectives have opened nine separate cases, with one case identifying six victims.
