CPA comes out swinging for auditor

Oakhurst CPA Todd Miller came out swinging as he announced his candidacy for the office of Madera County auditor/controller. Miller took aim at the current auditor-controller, Marcia Hall, and charged that the county has lost millions of dollars because of her “incompetence” with the result that it has been “forced to lay off 40 percent of its work force.”

Miller says he is offering his services to the people of Madera County because they have been so “poorly served in recent years” by the office.

Miller says that Hall’s office has been late in filing mandated audits to the state, and as a result, Madera County has lost millions of dollars. He says $3 million in road improvement funds have been delayed from last year and another $3 million is being delayed this year. Miller further alleges that Madera County has lost another $5.4 million in grants.

“That’s $11.4 million dollars lost to sheer incompetence and that’s just the beginning,” Miller states in his announcement...
