Madera Method trip to continue

The Madera Method wagons lay on their sides this week, canvases torn away, two boxes ripped from the axles and the camp at Daulton Ranch in general disarray.

They had been under attack! The damage, however, came from the wind instead of humans.

An estimated 50-60 mile per hour windstorm blew across the ranch Tuesday and swept through the circle of wagons. The four mule-drawn vehicles had been circled there and were awaiting a class of 5th graders from St. Joachim Elementary School to take their final trip, which is set to begin Friday morning.

A repair crew is attempting to get the wagons in running order before students arrive tonight. Madera Method teamster Doug Sordi said he was confident the wagons would be ready to go by this evening...
