Final meeting set for tonight

Citizens gathered Tuesday night to ask questions and listen to government presentations about the potential future of Madera County transportation.

For those who missed the meeting, another opportunity to get involved will take place tonight in Chowchilla.

“We’re trying to get the public to come in and tell us what they want before we go and develop scenarios,” said Derek Winning, deputy director of the Madera County Transportation Commission. “We want that input.”

A small number of residents — possibly due to heavy rain —sat inside the Madera High School cafeteria as the MCTC discussed potential ideas of Madera’s future in travel: renovated streets, bike paths, and improved sidewalks for shop and restaurant access, to name a few...
