About 5,000 parcels remain delinquent
The Madera County Treasurer-Tax Collector’s office collected more than $56 million in this year’s second installment of property taxes, Treasurer-Tax Collector Tracy Kennedy announced Thursday.
However, nearly 5 percent of county properties, or around 5,000 parcels, remain delinquent, Kennedy said.
The treasurer-tax collector’s office collected more than $116 million in property taxes during the December and April collection periods, compared to $111 million dollars at this same time last year, Kennedy said.
The cities of Madera and Chowchilla and the school districts within Madera County will soon get more than 85 percent of the total collected in the form of an apportionment, Kennedy said...
