Members question claims made by successful bidder

The City Council has decided to wait a month before deciding on who, if anybody, will be the city’s new trash-collecting contractor.

The matter will be reconsidered at the April 17 council meeting.

At a meeting Tuesday night, Council Members Sally Bomprezzi and Gary Svanda raised questions about the claims by successful bidder Sunset Waste Systems that the city would receive profits from recyclables collected.

Sunset was the qualified low bidder among nine companies that responded to a request for proposals for trash-hauling by the city in November...
