Newly drawn district includes parts of Madera
Residents and local officials surrounded Rep. Jim Costa (D-Fresno) in Madera on Thursday afternoon as he announced his intent to seek reelection to Congress, this time in a newly drawn district.
Costa currently represents the 20th congressional district, which includes Kings County and portions of Fresno and Kern counties.
In November, he hopes voters will choose him to lead the 16th congressional district, which includes portions of Madera, Fresno and Merced counties. Costa represented these counties when he was part of the state Assembly.
