Citing a desire to focus on her family after a difficult campaign, appointed Madera County Auditor-Controller Marcia Hall resigned Wednesday following a primary election loss to Todd Miller.

Hall’s resignation marks at least the third county auditor in five years to depart before the end of their term and followed a race marked on both ends by accusatory language and heated rhetoric.

In a statement, Hall thanked several people including her staff for their hard work and sacrifices while she expressed disappointment at the loss.

“The Madera County voters have spoken,” Hall said. “I have worked hard to move the auditor-controller’s office into the 21st century. Hopefully, this progress will continue." ...
