Construction crews working on the Ellis Street overpass closed the northbound lanes of State Route 99 in Madera last night through 5 a.m. this morning — and may close them again tonight.
The lanes were closed between Cleveland Avenue and Avenue 17, as was the northbound on-ramp from Avenue 16. The same location will be closed again from 11 p.m. tonight until 5 a.m. tomorrow if needed, officials said.
Traffic will be detoured from SR-99 at Cleveland Avenue and directed westbound on Cleveland to Road 23 and then northbound on Road 23 to Avenue 17. There, vehicles can take eastbound Avenue 17 until they reenter northbound SR-99 at the on-ramp.
