The Madera Swimming Pool Complex at 4th and Flume streets will open Saturday with a “Splashtacular” from 2 to 7 p.m. featuring games, prizes and water fun.
The event will officially open the aquatics programs at the community pool operated by the Madera Parks and Community Services Department. All programs will have parks staff and Red Cross-certified lifeguards on duty.
After the “Splashtacular,” pool hours for public swim are Monday through Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. and Saturday from Noon to 4 p.m. Admission is $1 for those 12 and under and $2 for those 13 and older. Sunday the pool is available for private rental for families, church and social groups and businesses.
Swim lessons by certified lifeguards are available during four two-week, half-hour sessions beginning June 9. Cost is $35 per session. Parents may register their children for swim lessons at times convenient for their schedule: 10:30 to 11 a.m.; 11:15 to 11:45 a.m.; 12 to 12:30 p.m. or 6 to 6:30 p.m. Private lessons are available from 9 to 9:50 a.m. and 6:45 to 7:25 p.m...
