The Madera Parks and Community Services Department will open the community pool for public swimming Saturday, the day after school is out for the summer. The pool is located at 221 Flume Street at the east end of Fourth Street. It is adjacent to the John W. Wells Youth Center.

Hours for public swim are Monday through Friday, 1 to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m. Entry is $1 for youth 12 and younger and $2 for persons 13 and older. There will be food and refreshments available; no outside food or drink is allowed.

The pool is also available for weekend rentals for families, social groups, churches and company swim parties.

Swim lessons are also offered throughout the summer with ten 30-minute lessons in each two-week session. The lessons are taught by qualified life guards and the fee for each session is $38 per child...
