The water filtration system at the community pool on Fourth and Flume streets has been replaced thanks to a $55,000 Community Development Block Grant.

The Sand Media Filtration System replaces a filter that has been in service for more than 50 years and had significant deterioration, which resulted in high maintenance costs.

John Scarborough, parks planning manager, supervised the improvements over the past three weeks.
