5 other cars crash

A Coarsegold man riding his motorcycle northbound on State Route 41 just north of Road 208 was killed Tuesday night when he drifted off the shoulder and struck a rocky outcropping, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Authorities identified the man as 56-year-old Michael Rhett Lari.

CHP Sgt. Lincoln McKenna said the solo vehicle fatality occurred about 7:25 p.m. in moderate traffic.

“He was heading home at approximately 60 mph .... from an appointment in Fresno, to his home in Coarsegold. He drifted to the right shoulder, struck the rocks and was ejected from the Harley Davidson motorcycle, on to the pavement,” McKenna said...
