FAIRMEAD — The American Association of University Women (AAUW) sponsored the admission of 30 girls and an adult chaperone into the Fossil Discovery Center of Madera County this weekend.

The AAUW’s third annual Girls’ Day coincided with National Fossil Day on Saturday.

On Friday evening, 16 AAUW members and guests spent two hours with Larry Martin, a Discovery Center docent, and viewed an introductory video and a special slideshow before touring the center.

Exhibits were also prepared by AAUW members Martha Mossman and Lynda Schaf-hauser. They were presented to participating families by AAUW members Ramona Frances, Delia Gregorski, Jill Ewing, Lisa Lopez-Wiliiams, Moira Farrelly, and Sue Thornton...
