The Madera City Council is considering the purchase of Apple iPad tablets for use by City Council members and city department heads.

The popular, high tech electronic devices would replace the fat three-ring binders council people and staff members carry around.

These binders can be filled with more than 200 pages each of reports on matters before the council, and on which the council members are expected to vote.

The iPads would replace all that paper...
