Randy Glenn Owens, 33, of Fresno is facing drug and weapons charges following his arrest in Coarsegold Sunday. His arrest was the result of a concerned citizen who phoned in what appeared to be a suspicious looking vehicle, said sheriff’s spokeswoman Erica Stuart.
Deputies were called to Wells Road shortly after 1 p.m. When officers arrived they saw a white Toyota Corolla parked near the intersection of Wells and Opal roads.
The driver (Owens) claimed he was out of gas and waiting for friend. Deputies said he was unable to furnish a driver’s license. Deputies advised Owens that he was driving without a registration. The car would have to be towed.
During an inventory search of the car, Deputies found a small bag of marijuana, a fixed blade knife, three shotgun slugs and a sawed-off shotgun...
