Members of a Madera congregation visited bridges and parks around town feeding the needy. The food giveaway by Madera New Life Apostolic Church members fed about 60 people, including seasonal workers and the homeless, said director John Martinez.

“A few of our members wanted to just feed the hungry and show our kids what we’re doing,” said Martinez.

“We have a couple of members who, at one time, were homeless themselves so they understand what it’s like,” he said.

Churchgoers gave away bags filled sandwiches and water from the beds of trucks on Saturday morning...
