Church’s latest outreach helps single mothers

Members of Yosemite Christian Center kept busy Saturday morning changing oil and providing new oil filters to single mothers who could not afford it or did not have anyone who could provide the needed car maintenance.

The church was aided by volunteers from the Madera Rescue Mission. A cup of coffee and manicure were available for the mothers while they waited. All the used oil was taken to be recycled.

According to church member Arnold Recalde, Yosemite Christian Center performs outreach to the community once a month.

“We have done landscaping at Millview school, and provided school supplies and backpacks to the kids at Sierra Vista (school),” said Recalde...
