The Madera Area California Highway Patrol will conduct a driving-under-the-influence and driver license safety checkpoint on Saturday, somewhere within the incorporated area of the City of Madera. In addition, specially assigned officers will patrol the surrounding area searching for DUI drivers.
“All too often, members of our community are senselessly injured or killed on our local roadways by intoxicated and unlicensed drivers,” said Lt. Dave Paris,Madera Area commander.

Paris said, “Traffic volume permitting, all vehicles will be checked, and drivers who are under the influence of alcohol or drugs can expect to be arrested. Our objective isto send a clear message to individuals considering mixing alcohol and/or drugs with driving: You will be caught and your vehicle will be towed away.” ...
