Chowchilla Western Stampede Committee crowns 2014 royalty

Boots, buckles and crowns were the order of the evening as the Chowchilla Western Stampede Committee and the community gathered Wednesday evening at the Chowchilla Fairgrounds to crown their 2014 Royalty.

Stampede Queen Lindsey Crafts of Mariposa spoke for the four royal members who were relinquishing their titles, thanking the committee for its support and detailing what an uplifting experience it had been for her and all of the young ladies representing the Stampede over the last year.

Stampede committee member Don Myers, of Raymond, presented each of the departing royalty with a keepsake photo album that contained a photographic chronology of their year as Stampede representatives.

Cory Mendes and Chris Wooten, both of Dos Palos, presented each of the contestants with flowers before the winners were crowned. The winners are: Wee Miss Chowchilla Western Stampede: Analyse Alvara, 5, of Chowchilla, who attends Stephens Elementary School. Her court includes Cienna Eramo and Genevieve Rae Medina...
