Former Madera County veteran comes from Montana to attend the ceremony

CHOWCHILLA — Family and friends looked on in admiration as veterans who fought in Korea, Vietnam and Somalia wars were honored by the Richard Corbett Brown Post 9896 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

The widow of one veteran attended to receive his recognition.

About 50 people attended the ceremony and reception where the post recognized Henry Woods, Don Schnoor, Lafayette Spradley and the late Stephen Stewart as Distinguished Life Members for their duty to country, length of membership in the post and service.

Post Commander Carlos Bedolla and Post member and former county supervisor Vern Moss presented honorees with commemorative medals and certifications of commendation from the Madera County Board of Supervisors...
