Four-day event begins Thursday

The 66th annual Chowchilla-Madera County Fair will kick off Thursday and last through Sunday, bringing family fun and entertainment to the fairgrounds and event center in Chowchilla.

The fair, held annually in May, brings residents together to celebrate the community’s heritage of agriculture and family.

This year fairgoers will have the opportunity to win cash prizes in a drawing if they are present one hour prior to the close of the fair. A random winner will be drawn from the admission tickets that day. Officials will give away $100 each day Thursday through Saturday and $500 on Sunday.

Plenty of fair rides will return, and wristbands for unlimited rides will be $15. Thursday is Buddy Day, when fairgoers can purchase one regular price unlimited ride wristband and get one for free...
